Employee directory, onboarding, and leave approvals.

The employee directory

Open /app/hr to see everyone on the workspace — name, title, contact info, employment type, and start date. Click any row to open the employee detail page where you can add notes, manager assignments, and reporting relationships.

Add an employee from the "New employee" button on the directory. The form is one screen — only the name is strictly required, the rest can be filled in later when you have it. Roles (Owner / Admin / Manager / Member / Viewer) are set when you invite the user separately at /app/settings/members.

Onboarding checklists

Each employee detail page has an onboarding checklist — a per-employee to-do list that survives them being added to projects, channels, and chat. Use it for the first-week tasks that don’t belong inside any one module: laptop set up, NDA signed, accounts provisioned.

Items can be checked off by anyone with HR access. The completion state is visible on the directory row so a manager can see at a glance who is still mid-onboarding.

Leave requests and approvals

Members file leave at /app/hr/leave with a date range, leave type (annual / sick / unpaid / other), and a reason. The reason renders inline on the approvals table so a manager does not have to open the row to decide.

Managers and owners approve or reject from the same table. Approved leave is visible to the rest of the team, helping with project planning. Rejected requests stay in the log but are dismissed from the active queue.

Audit and history

Every administrative action on an HR record (created, edited, leave approved or rejected) lands in the workspace audit log at /app/settings/audit with the actor, IP address, user agent, and the affected entity — clickable through to the record.

When a member is removed from the workspace, their HR record stays in place under "Former employees" so historical reporting (leave taken, projects led) does not lose its anchor.
